Laanecoorie  Bordeaux Style Blend 2006laanecoorie

“The 2006 Laanecoorie is a complex blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot and cabernet franc, dry grown on north-facing slopes just north of Maryborough in the broad Bendigo goldfields region of Central Victoria.  The vines are hand pruned and hand picked, only estate-grown fruit is ever included in the blend and the resulting wine represents a faithful expression of its individual site.  The 06 is one of the very best vintages ever seen in the region,  a year when nature was kind enough to provide full flavour ripeness at moderate sugar levels.  The finished wine has excellent structure and holds a rich and deep measure of red and black berries with hints of earth and dried leaves; the tannins are dry but gentle and add length to the palate . While it has a cellaring future of at least a decade, the 06 is remarkably drinkable and satisfying right now”.

McQuilten’s Reserve Shiraz 2008

McQuilten's Reserve Shiraz"While John and Rosa McQuilten have taken due pride in previous releases and been understandably chuffed by various glowing reviews, for my money, the 2008 vintage is clearly the best yet. It's a truly lovely wine, a classic Central Victorian shiraz with all the rich, ripe fruit flavour you'd expect from a top vintage and a remarkable depth and density of supple texture. Yes, the oak does make its presence felt but it's certainly not intrusive nor are the alcohol or tannins. Absolutely delicious!" Paddy Kendler Herald-Sun Wine Writer. Order Now

"5 Stars -  McQuilten’s Reserve Shiraz 2008  Deep colour; a complex and satisfying medium-to full-bodied shiraz, the aromas of black fruits, spice and licorice repeated on the well-balanced and long palate; long future ahead.
